The North Star Buck (switchable Holiday Cocktail)

Prepare the Rosemary Simple Syrup: Combine granulated sugar and water (1:1 ratio) in a small saucepan. Add one rosemary sprig. Heat gently until sugar dissolves, let steep for 15 minutes, then remove the rosemary and let cool. (Note: This can be made in a larger batch).

Prepare the Tart Base: In a pitcher or jar, mix the Unsweetened Cranberry Juice and Fresh Lime Juice at a 2:1 ratio (2 parts cranberry to 1 part lime).

For Vodka or Gin Drinkers: Add 2 oz spirit, 1 oz of the Tart Base, and 0.5 oz Rosemary Simple Syrup to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously to chill.

For Bourbon Drinkers: Add 2 oz bourbon, 0.5 oz of the Tart Base, and 0.5 oz Rosemary Simple Syrup to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously.

Assembly: Strain the shaken mixture into a Collins glass or copper mug filled with fresh ice.

Top with approximately 3 oz of ginger beer (fill to the rim).

Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig and fresh cranberries floating on top.
