Strawberry Bourbon Smash

In a sturdy glass, combine 4-5 fresh strawberries, hulled and halved, with 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar. Muddle well until the strawberries are broken down and juicy.

Add 2 ounces of high-quality bourbon to the glass.

Fill the glass with crushed ice.

Top with 1 ounce of club soda or sparkling water.

Garnish with a fresh strawberry and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately.
