A smoky twist on the classic Margarita, perfect for impressing your guests.
Prepare the Smoked Salt: On a small plate, spread 2 tablespoons of kosher salt and smoke it using a smoking gun for about 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can use store-bought smoked salt.
Prepare the Glass: Moisten the rim of a margarita glass with a lime wedge and dip it into the smoked salt to coat evenly. Fill the glass with ice.
Combine Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces of high-quality tequila (blanco or reposado), 1 ounce of mezcal for a smoky flavor, 1 ounce of fresh lime juice, and 3/4 ounce of agave nectar. Add ice to the shaker.
Shake Well: Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.
Strain and Serve: Strain the margarita mixture into the prepared glass over the ice. Garnish with a lime wedge or a grilled pineapple slice.
