A simple and delicious spaghetti dish with peas, perfect for a quick weeknight meal.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 1 pound of spaghetti and cook according to package directions until al dente.
While the spaghetti is cooking, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup of finely chopped yellow onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add 2 cloves of minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute more, until fragrant. Stir in 1 cup of frozen peas and cook until heated through, about 3 minutes.
Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti and add it to the skillet with the peas. Toss to combine. Add pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley, if desired.
