Crisp, bubbly cast iron pizza loaded with pepperoni, a drizzle of fiery hot honey, and a sprinkle of fresh basil.
Preheat your cast iron skillet in a 450°F oven for at least 30 minutes.
Carefully remove the hot skillet and place it on a stovetop burner set to medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to coat the bottom of the skillet.
Stretch or roll out 1 pound of pizza dough to a 12-inch circle. Gently place the dough into the hot skillet, pressing it to the edges.
Spread 1/2 cup of tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border for the crust.
Sprinkle 8 ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by 4 ounces of pepperoni slices.
Return the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of hot honey over the pizza and sprinkle with 1/4 cup of fresh basil leaves.
Slice and serve immediately. Enjoy!
