A simple, homemade applesauce recipe that is both delicious and easy to make.
Peel, core, and chop 6 medium-sized apples (such as Gala, Honeycrisp, or Fuji).
In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped apples with 1/4 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar (adjust to taste), and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the apples are very soft.
Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Use an immersion blender to puree the applesauce to your desired consistency. Alternatively, you can use a potato masher for a chunkier texture.
Taste and adjust sweetness or cinnamon as needed. Serve warm or cold.
