A classic British dish made easy and crispy in the air fryer.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Cut 1 pound of Yukon Gold potatoes into 1/2-inch thick fries. Toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
Place the fries in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are in a single layer.
Air fry for 10 minutes. Then shake the basket and continue to air fry for another 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
While the fries are cooking, prepare the fish. Pat 2 cod fillets (about 6 ounces each) dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper, then dredge them in 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour. Dip into 1 beaten large egg and then into 1/2 cup of panko breadcrumbs.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, if needed. Place the coated cod fillets in the air fryer basket.
Air fry the cod for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until the fish is cooked through and the coating is golden and crispy.
Serve immediately. Accompany with malt vinegar, tartar sauce, and a lemon wedge.
