A classic margarita recipe with a focus on proper shaking technique for optimal dilution and flavor.
In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces (60 ml) tequila, 3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) Cointreau, 3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) freshly strained lime juice, and 1/4 ounce (7.5 ml) simple syrup.
Add 5 drops of saline solution or a generous pinch of salt to the shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice.
Close the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is well-chilled.
Strain the margarita into a chilled glass with or without a salt rim.
Serve immediately and enjoy responsibly.
