These dinner rolls are soft, fluffy, and the perfect addition to any meal. They're easy to make and sure to be a crowd-pleaser!
In a large bowl, dissolve 2 ¼ teaspoons of active dry yeast and 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar in ¾ cup of warm milk (about 110°F/43°C). Let stand for 5 minutes, or until foamy.
Add ¼ cup of softened unsalted butter, 1 large egg, and 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook and mix on medium speed for 5-7 minutes.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1-1 ½ hours, or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
Punch down the risen dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a smooth ball.
Place the dough balls in the prepared baking pan, spacing them evenly. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise for 30 minutes, or until puffy.
In a small bowl, whisk together 1 large egg and 1 tablespoon of milk. Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
