A savory quiche filled with crispy bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, tender broccoli florets, and sweet caramelized onions.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, cook 6 slices of bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and crumble. Reserve 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the skillet.
Add 1 diced yellow onion to the skillet with the bacon fat and cook until softened and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
In a bowl, whisk together 4 large eggs, 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
Line a 9-inch pie dish with a pre-made pie crust.
Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese over the bottom of the pie crust. Then, add the crumbled bacon, caramelized onions, and 1 cup of small broccoli florets.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the fillings.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the crust is golden brown. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
